No one can truly deny the doctrine of election as biblical truth. No matter what title you claim within Soteriology, the doctrine of election cannot be denied and, at the same time, cannot be fully understood. But, what makes election so grand, though, is it’s perfect ability to fuel true worship. True worship says, “Not to us, O Lord, not to us, but to your name give glory” (Psalm 115:1a). If we were responsible for our own salvation, either in whole or even in part, we would be justified in giving glory to our own name. Those whom God elects will spend eternity worshipping the Sovereign, humbling themselves before Him in grateful devotion, crediting their salvation to Him and to the Lamb and proclaiming that He alone is worthy to receive all praise, honor and glory. Because our salvation is due entirely to His grace, will, wisdom and power. “Holy, holy, holy, is the Lord God Almighty, who was and is and is to come! Worthy are you, our Lord and God, to receive glory and honor and power, for you created all things, and by your will they existed and were created” (Revelation 4:8b, 11). En Cristo Solo!
