I tried. I tried posting once daily. I tried posting every other day. Now I have determined that once a week will be sufficient. Thursdays will be my posting days. Those will be the days I contend on the internet. So, if you are interested in my musings, rantings, thoughts or insights, you can find a new addition to them every Thursday from here on.

I must contend for the Faith tonight though. I must confront the assaults on my Master. If I am truly a slave unto Christ then I must defend all assaults on his character that I am within Scriptural bounds to defend mustn’t I? In this day in age, we have before us the most aberrant presidential election to date, Islam taking over the world and, worst of all, false “gospels” being preached and taught in today’s so-called “churches.”

Not only are these people who preach this false doctrine preaching it, they are also propogating it by any means at their disposal. People who know no better are buying this guile hook, line and sinker. What guile am I referring to? What false “gospel” am I speaking of? The “name it and claim it” “Word of faith” heresies. Joel Osteen is one of the biggest proponents thereof but there are others just as sinister. I just watched the movie, Miracles from Heaven with my family and was appalled to say the least. This movie was supposed to be a godly movie yet there was not the first mention of He who is the image of the invisible God! (Colossians 1:15) Neither is there the first mention of the gospel he preached which can be found in the gospel according to Mark 1:15. There are several mentions of “faith” but this faith is never defined by anyone in the movie. When confronted by the grieving mother of a suffering child, the pastor in the movie answered the question “How can a loving God allow my little girl to suffer like this?” With the ol’ “I don’t have an answer for that.” If the shepherd of the flock has not the answers, who does?! How dare he walk around being unable to turn to the infallible Word of the living God when asked pressing questions?!

Ephesians 1:11-12

11 In him we have obtained an inheritance, having been predestined according to the purpose of him who works all things according to the counsel of his will,

12 so that we who were the first to hope in Christ might be to the praise of his glory.

There is your answer, pastor. God allows- nay works all things according to the counsel of his will so that we may glorify him according to Paul, under inspiration of the Holy Ghost, in verse twelve. He works the suffering of little girls for his own glory. Does this make him any less loving? By no means! He is living in that he would have wretched sinners like us to glorify him! How wondrous a thing it is to be a part of a plan that glorifies your Creator!

Aside from that, there is not the first mention of Scripture in the movie! Not the first one! The pastor, at one point early on in the movie and from a pulpit, says that if something bad is happening to you, it is because you sinned. TELL THAT TO JOB! There was not a man like Job in all of the East and the worst suffering in the Old Testament days was suffered by none other than Job! It was decidedly not because he sinned!

Not only this, but the people in this movie pray throughout it. They pray and pray and pray. To whom do they pray? Why “God” of course! They needn’t define that god or anything he stands for, merely to pray to him! There, again, is absolutely no mention of Jesus Christ throughout the entirety of the movie. Not even in their prayers! There is no mention of repentance, only “belief” and “faith.” In what? That is never established other than “miracles.”

And believe you me, I am not raising such a fuss as the Apostle Paul would, much to my discredit, which begs the question: what would Paul have said?

Galatians 1:8-9

8 But even if we or an angel from heaven should preach to you a gospel contrary to the one we preached to you, let him be accursed.

9 As we have said before, so now I say again: If anyone is preaching to you a gospel contrary to the one you received, let him be accursed.

Let them be accursed. That is what Paul says of those that would preach ANY other gospel than the one he received from Christ and preached himself. The word “accursed” here is “anathema,” meaning let him go to Hell now, before he can drag others there with him. This is the severity with which Paul saw the problem in the first century. May God grant me the same fervor even now, that I and those who would stand with me would proclaim His gospel to all and go forth making disciples. I implore you, read your Bibles. Let God be your discernment. Trust his Word. Cling to the cross of Calvary where God the Son hung and died, bearing the wrath of God in our stead, that, should we repent of our sins and believe in his life, death, burial and Resurrection, we shall not perish but have everlasting life. That is the gospel. Soli Deo Gloria.
